Jess Howard Electric Company's Program For A Substance-Free Workplace
Jess Howard Electric Company recognizes the adverse effects that the use of illegal drugs and abuse of alcohol can have on employees, our products and services, and the organization as a whole. It is the company's obligation and right to maintain a safe, healthy, and efficient work environment. Our Substance-Free Workplace Program is established to be a benefit for our employees and the public as well as to protect the company's property, operations, productivity and public image.
Under this program, Jess Howard Electric expects its employees to work free from the influence of legal or illegal drugs and alcohol. The company also expects its employees to refrain from other involvement with drugs or alcohol in a manner which compromises the employee's or company's safety, security, productivity, public image or otherwise violates this program.
In addition, this program reaffirms Jess Howard Electric's commitment to treatment of drug- and/or alcohol-related problems. We strongly encourage employees who have a drug and/or alcohol-related problem to voluntarily seek confidential assistance through community resources or the company's designated Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or another appropriate program.
Finally, the implementation of this program is subject to the requirements and prohibitions contained in applicable federal, state and local laws.
Through implementation of this Program, Jess Howard Electric also seeks to comply with the requirements of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, the U.S. Department of Transportation's controlled substance and alcohol testing regulations, the legal requirements of the state of Ohio, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation's (OBWC) Drug-Free Workplace Program.
